Transfer my number to VISICOM (Local)

VISICOM can port in Local numbers as long as the area code is found in our "Local Numbers Available" table. Click here to check. Please note:

  • Mobile phone numbers can be ported in also (note: transfer form will have to include the last four digits of wireless carrier's SSN number or wireless account number along with PIN).
  • While we may offer your area code, if your number is in a "rate center" our provider does not service, we will be unable to port the number.
  • We may also encounter difficulty transferring your number if you live outside of the local rate center the number is assigned to.

The transfer process can take up to 15 business days or longer to complete, if your number is coming from a Regional Bell Operating Company (e.g., AT&T, Verizon, Qwest, Bell South ). Please note that:

  • Non-RBOC carriers (e.g., Vonage, Packet 8, Comcast, etc.) are slower to release numbers, so the duration will be longer.
  • eFax, jConnect, J2 Communications, and CommuniKate do not allow port out requests of their numbers at all.

So long as your account remains active at your existing carrier while the request is processed, it is unlikely that you will experience any down time. Nevertheless, while we never anticipate any problems, it is possible that your Local number may be unavailable for a short period of time during the final stages of the transfer. The local number you transferred in can also be transferred out if you wish.

Important note for ex-Vonage customers: After your number has been successfully transferred into VISICOM, you should contact Vonage and tell them to remove the phone number from their network (and close the account, unless of course, other numbers and services remain). If the phone number remains in Vonage's network, calls placed from Vonage phones will not leave their network and will fail.

To transfer (port in) your local number to VISICOM, prepare the following three documents and fax them to (800) 365-1910:

  1. A Fax Cover page that includes your Full Name, Contact Telephone Number, Email Address, and your current (temporary) VISICOM number. Also note if you wish to keep your temporary VISICOM number after the transfer completes, or we will disconnect it,
  2. A completed and signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) form and,
  3. A copy of your most recent phone bill listing your local number, name of account holder and billing address.

Download the attached PDF document to obtain further instructions and the Letter of Authorization form.
